For No One but Us, is a collection of work by artists using photography as a way to engage in their creative process. Images that would only exist on a hard-drive, in a bedroom, or on a studio wall are on display at LivingRoom. The photographs in this presentation are images that inspire these artists to make more art work. This is a collection of self generated inspiration curated by Justin Schmitz.

Raising & Caring for City Chickens with Jim Lichon

Join us at LivingRoom on Wednesday July 28th from 7-9PM for a discussion about the exciting world of urban poultry!  Jim Lichon will be here to lead things and answer the many questions you might have along with…wait for it…some of his finest feathered friends!

Jim will touch on everything from raising chicks to the benefits of a rooster, to the necessary tools, equipment and feed for your hens, and even how to build your own coop with reused materials from the Rebuilding Exchange.  Whew!

LivingRoom’s first contra dance, Thursday July 22nd!

LivingRoom is hosting a contra dance!

The Screaming Laundry Hawks play and Rachel Shapiro calls.

The Screaming Laundry Hawks are Edward Wallace (fiddle), Dan Fuchs (guitar) & Steve Hartley (bass), and they will rock the house with a mix of old-time & Irish tunes!

Live music and dancing 8-10:30PM, Thursday July 22nd

$5 admission
All proceeds will support our micro grant.  The micro grant funds projects (up to $1,500 each) in the areas of art, sustainability, and overall world betterment.

The Mobile Garden gets a Kickstart!

A short while ago we posted a blog about The Mobile Garden Project.

But there is big new news!  A local donor has offered $15,000 in matching funds to the project, if they raise the same by July 31st.
