Que Lastima plays LivingRoom Gallery at 8PM Saturday January 2nd to support our Micro Grant project.
Doors at 8PM, show starts at 8:30PM. $5 suggested donation. Space is limited.
Que Lastima is a Jazz/Blues/Rock group featuring Danny Cohen on guitar, Joey Fishman on keyboards, Joe Duncker on bass, and Jake Fansler on drums. The members of Que Lastima were active in both the School of Rock, and the Merit School of Music.
Que Lastima has been playing around Chicago for around a year and a half, opening for McGowan (co-writer of catch my disease, and songwriter to John Legend) at Jerry’s Wicker Park, and playing venues such as World Folk, and The Galaxie Chicago.
They have one finished LP, entitled “What A Pity”, released July 2009, and will be recording another dual themed album, based on zombies and space come December 2009. The Band’s influences range from Miles Davis to Jon Brion, to Santana, to the Chicago blues scene itself, explaining the wide array of influences discernible in each song.
The micro grant funds projects (up to $1,500) in the areas of art, sustainability, and overall world betterment. Candidates for the grant will have a cause or project that needs a small amount of funding to produce. The grant will be funded partially through LivingRoom Realty, which will donate 1% of their 2009 profits, and partially through your support! LivingRoom Gallery curates awesome shows at their space accompanied by locally produced food and drinks. Please stay tuned and come out to support the micro grant programming and recipients.
